Good news for the derby: Sancet will be available

Sancet expected to return for the Basque derby against Real Sociedad on Sunday; Galarreta also progressing but will miss the Copa del Rey tie at Prat.

Athletic Bilbao manager Edin Terzic has provided an injury update ahead of the Copa del Rey match against AE Prat. Sancet, sidelined since suffering a moderate soleus muscle injury on 8 October, has begun running on grass and is on track to feature in next Sunday's Basque derby against Real Sociedad, though the timeline remains tight. Terzic confirmed Sancet will not play against Prat due to the artificial pitch posing unnecessary risk after injury.

Galarreta, injured in Sunday's match against Getafe, is also progressing and could be available for the Osasuna fixture on 7 October, though he too will miss tomorrow's Copa tie. Guruzeta faces a longer absence after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament rupture and will miss the remainder of the season.
