Hearts 2 Rangers 2 LIVE reaction as Derek McInnes earns late draw on Tynecastle return

Hearts and Rangers drew 2-2 at Tynecastle, with Makhanya's last-minute header rescuing a point for McInnes's side on his first return to Gorgie.

Hearts and Rangers played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Tynecastle in a midweek Scottish Premiership fixture. Rangers took the lead through Kevin Kelsy in the 16th minute after a swift move, but Hearts turned the game around with goals from Claudio Braga in the 48th minute and Calvin Miller nine minutes later. Rangers equalised in the 90th minute when Olwethu Makhanya's header found the net off the post from Badredine Bouanani's free-kick. Derek McInnes, making his first return to the capital since joining Rangers in the summer, saw his side spurn a late chance to win it when Dujon Sterling failed to convert from close range in the final moments.

Both sides missed the opportunity to close the gap on Celtic, who also drew 2-2 at home to Dundee United. Rangers remain four points ahead of Celtic, with Hearts further back. The Premier Sports Cup semi-finals take place this weekend.
