Rangers score late to snatch draw on McInnes' Hearts return
Summarised by MatchPal
Rangers drew 2-2 at Hearts with a late Makhanya header, holding McInnes' side to their unbeaten home record on his first return to Tynecastle since joining Ibrox.
Rangers snatched a dramatic 2-2 draw at Tynecastle in Derek McInnes' first match back since leaving Hearts for Ibrox in June. McInnes was loudly booed by the home crowd as he emerged from the tunnel.
Kevin Kelsy gave Rangers an early lead in the 16th minute after Hearts' Laurent Mendy's lapse in possession. Hearts turned the game around with two quick second-half goals: Claudio Braga scored from a free-kick on 48 minutes, and Calvin Miller added a second on 57 minutes after Braga's deflected shot fell to him in the box.
Rangers levelled through Olwethu Makhanya's 89th-minute header from a free-kick, and Dujon Sterling had a golden chance to win it in the dying seconds but chest-controlled the ball straight to Hearts keeper Beau Reus. Rangers remain four points behind Celtic and four above Hearts.
