De Rossi praises Genoa: "Wonderful players. Pleased to have beaten Spalletti and Gasperini"

De Rossi's Genoa beat Juventus 2-0, with the manager praising his players' complete performance against his former mentor Spalletti.

Daniele De Rossi guided Genoa to a 2-0 victory over Juventus, earning praise for a tactically astute display. De Rossi highlighted the team's resilience and spirit, noting the difficulty of the fixture but crediting his players for a complete performance with both defensive solidity and quality attacking moments.

Tactically, De Rossi explained his decision to deploy Baldanzi in an unfamiliar position to isolate Lucumi, and emphasized the need to adapt to the referee's higher threshold by playing more through space rather than direct passes. He commended all his players, including Vitinha's consistency in training, and signaled further changes ahead for the Lecce match.

De Rossi also reflected on facing Spalletti and Gasperini—managers he admires—as a coach himself, having considered management from his mid-twenties. While pleased with the win against such respected opponents, he credited his players as the decisive factor in the result.
