Genoa-Juventus, Spalletti: "The league table weighs on the players' minds"

Spalletti blamed Juventus's poor intensity and physical commitment after losing to Genoa, saying the league table is weighing on his players' minds.

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti expressed frustration after his side's defeat at Genoa, criticizing their lack of intensity and physical engagement in midfield duels. "We did little of everything," Spalletti said, noting he was surprised by how differently his team performed compared to their previous match against Lecce. He highlighted that Genoa's two goals came partly from Juventus's own defensive lapses, and acknowledged that the team's current league position is affecting their mentality. Spalletti emphasized the need to raise standards in training to translate that into match performance, and pointed to the upcoming fixture against Napoli—a team level on points with Juventus—as a crucial test. He also apologized to the fans for the performance.
