Spalletti criticises Juventus: "Little substance and little fight". Then reflects on Napoli return: "It's difficult..."

Juventus manager Spalletti apologised to fans after a 2-0 defeat to Genoa, criticising his team's lack of intensity and physical commitment in all phases of play.

Juventus suffered a heavy 2-0 defeat to Genoa, prompting manager Luciano Spalletti to apologise to the club's supporters and deliver a frank assessment of the performance. Spalletti acknowledged the team's struggles with intensity and physical battles, saying "there is little substance and little fight" in his current squad. He questioned whether his available players have what it takes to compete at the required level, citing the need to understand why the team's attitude differed so markedly from their previous match.

Spalletti also reflected on the upcoming fixture against Napoli, the club where he won a Serie A title. He spoke emotionally about returning to Naples, describing it as "a city impossible not to love when you're inside it, especially when you've won a championship there." However, he quickly refocused on Juventus's immediate problems, expressing concern about making his players understand the modern demands of football, particularly the intensity of opposition pressing and one-on-one duels. He noted the squad's limited depth due to injuries, making rotation difficult, and lamented that progress should come with each match but hasn't materialised.
