Summarised by MatchPal
Unai Simón named world's best goalkeeper; Athletic face AE El Prat in Copa del Rey tonight and Real Sociedad in Sunday's derby.
Athletic Bilbao's week has been packed with significant events. Following their Sunday victory over Getafe, goalkeeper Unai Simón was named the world's best goalkeeper on Monday. The club held a shareholders' assembly at the Euskalduna on Tuesday, where the board approved the previous season's accounts and the current budget by a wide majority, though the management's handling of the past campaign received less enthusiastic support.
The busy schedule continues tonight with Athletic's Copa del Rey debut against modest side AE El Prat, with Padilla expected to start in goal. Manager Terzic's side will aim to progress with the usual ambition. The week concludes with Sunday's Basque derby against Real Sociedad, making for a packed and significant period for the club.
