Man Utd may enter market as Sesko injury proves more serious

Sesko ruled out until January 2027 with shin injury; United may enter transfer market for striker cover.

Benjamin Sesko will miss the remainder of 2026 after suffering a shin injury, with Manchester United expecting his return in January 2027. The 23-year-old Slovene has played just over 200 minutes this season, scoring twice against Everton and Sabah FK before the setback. His absence is significant for manager Michael Carrick, who loses his only recognised centre-forward during a difficult run — United have lost eight consecutive matches across all competitions.

Sesko will miss three Champions League fixtures and Premier League clashes against Liverpool and Arsenal. The BBC reports that United's leadership may act in the January transfer window if his recovery extends further, with the lack of a classic striker cited as a contributing factor to the club's poor form.
