Man United star out until 2027 in major injury blow

Sesko faces at least two months out with a shin injury and is not expected to return this year.

Benjamin Sesko has been sidelined for six weeks with a shin injury and will require significantly more recovery time. After consulting with specialists, Manchester United's medical team have determined the 23-year-old will be out for at least two months and is not expected to return before the end of the year. It remains unclear whether this is a recurrence of the shin issue that cut short his 2025/26 season after a collision with Ibrahima Konate in May.

Sesko's absence is a major blow to United's attacking options. The Slovenian scored 11 league goals last season and his continued unavailability leaves manager Michael Carrick with limited forward depth, particularly with Joshua Zirkzee struggling to make an impact since his 2024 arrival. United have experimented with their attacking line this season, including using captain Bruno Fernandes as a false nine, but have managed only four goals from their joint-top scorer Benjamin Mbeumo.
