Juve storm: Carnevali rebukes players, retreat ordered before Napoli

CEO Carnevali addressed the squad after Genoa loss; Juventus enters retreat from tomorrow ahead of Napoli clash.

Juventus suffered a damaging defeat to Genoa, their second loss in three league games, prompting swift action from the club hierarchy. CEO and general director Giovanni Carnevali gathered the squad at the Continassa training ground in the presence of manager Luciano Spalletti to deliver a direct message: the current situation is unacceptable and immediate change is required.

Carnevali's tone was stern. He told the players, including defender Bremer, that performances have fallen short and demanded a rapid response. The club reaffirmed its confidence in Spalletti and the coaching staff, but made clear it expects to see a different attitude in matches. At Spalletti's request, Juventus will enter a pre-match retreat from tomorrow in preparation for Sunday evening's Serie A clash against Napoli in matchday 10.

The Genoa performance was particularly concerning. Juventus barely competed in the match and collapsed when faced with early difficulties, unable to mount a response. Spalletti apologized to supporters after the final whistle. The retreat aims to regroup the squad and prepare meticulously for a fixture that carries significance beyond the three points at stake.
