De Rossi jokes about fan criticism: 'I've learned not to react anymore'

De Rossi reflects on fan criticism during Genoa's recent matches, saying he now ignores negative comments after learning to stay focused on his tactical approach.

Daniele De Rossi spoke about an incident during Genoa's match against Venezia when fans behind the bench repeatedly told him the team was playing too deep. The Genoa manager, speaking after his side's victory over Juventus, recalled the moment with good humour: "They were saying 'De Rossi we're too low, we're too low', but I knew that. Juventus were in front of us, it made sense." He explained that he has learned not to react to such criticism anymore.

De Rossi also praised Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti despite beating him, acknowledging the difficulty of managing at a club like Juve during a challenging period. He reflected on his own turnaround at Genoa, noting that the club's patience after a difficult start—when Genoa had just one point from five games—has been crucial. "The easiest thing would have been to sack me after Parma, but we're here now without giving up anything because it takes very little to end up back in the mud," De Rossi said.
