Manchester United have decision to make – and quickly – as competition rises

Manchester United may need to act quickly if they want to pursue Nagelsmann, with RB Leipzig, Tottenham and Fenerbahce also interested in the free agent.

Manchester United face mounting pressure to decide on their managerial future as Julian Nagelsmann, currently a free agent after leaving Germany in the summer, attracts interest from multiple clubs. Reports suggest Christopher Vivell, United's director of recruitment, has been pushing for Nagelsmann's appointment after previously working with him in Germany.

However, the club appears to be sticking with Michael Carrick for now despite a poor start to the season. That stance may become untenable if results don't improve, and United could face competition if they do move. RB Leipzig are monitoring Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for under-pressure coach Martin Demichelis, and view him as their only option should they make a change. Tottenham are also linked with interest.

Fenerbahce have added another layer of competition, with president Aziz Yildirim identifying Nagelsmann as one of two candidates alongside Vincenzo Montella to replace sacked coach Ismail Kartal. The question now is whether United will act decisively or continue backing Carrick.
