Fran González happy with debut: "The Copa is great"

Sevilla goalkeeper Fran González made his official debut in a 3-0 Copa del Rey win over Sporting Hortaleza, expressing enthusiasm about the competition.

Sevilla progressed comfortably through the first round of the Copa del Rey with a 3-0 victory over Sporting Hortaleza. Goalkeeper Fran González, who joined from Real Madrid over the summer, made his official debut for the club under manager Luis García Plaza and was delighted with the experience.

"It's a special match, it's my debut and we've seen that the Copa is great. We're all excited, both the fans and us. We're going to try to go as far as possible," González said after the match. The Spain U21 international, currently competing for the number one spot with Odysseas Vlachodimos, praised his team's performance and their approach to keeping Hortaleza out of the game.

González has already turned his focus to Sevilla's next challenge, a trip to Getafe on Sunday. "The team wants to be where we are, we want to fight to stay there. We're going to Getafe to fight for three points," he concluded.
