Grealish left out of Everton squad: 'It is a club decision'

Grealish dropped from Everton's squad for League Cup tie after missing training without permission, manager Moyes confirms.

Jack Grealish was left out of Everton's League Cup squad for Thursday's match against Newcastle United after missing a training session without authorization, according to English media reports. The Manchester City loanee had already sat out the previous weekend's fixture against Arsenal due to illness.

Manager David Moyes confirmed the decision at his post-match press conference but declined to elaborate on specifics. "It's a club decision, something I'd rather not say too much about," Moyes said. Everton won the tie 3-0 and will face Fleetwood Town in the quarter-final on Tuesday, December 15.
