Martin O'Neill's tactics leave Celtic fans scratching their heads as eye-opening comment sums up state of club

Celtic fans voice frustration over Martin O'Neill's team selection and tactical decisions following the draw with Dundee United, with concerns raised about defensive frailties and midfield performance.

Celtic supporters have taken to the phones to express their concerns over manager Martin O'Neill's tactics and team selections following a draw with Dundee United at Parkhead. Callum McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers have both raised issues with the approach, with fans questioning decisions such as playing forwards in wide positions and the substitutions made during the match.

One caller highlighted the defensive problems, noting Celtic have conceded 17 goals in nine games and suggesting the team now lacks the intimidating presence they once had at home. Another expressed confusion over Carter-Vickers being left on the bench, describing the central defender as Celtic's best and questioning his continued absence.

The criticism extends to the coaching staff, with callers suggesting the side relies too heavily on back passes rather than forward play. Separately, Rangers manager Derek McInnes has defended Emmanuel Fernandez ahead of Saturday's Premier Sports Cup clash with Aberdeen, though some supporters remain unconvinced by the defender's recent performances.
