Trent Alexander-Arnold gets second green light from former Liverpool star for transfer return

Emile Heskey joins Jamie Carragher in backing a return for Alexander-Arnold, who has started just four times for Real Madrid this season.

Emile Heskey has urged Trent Alexander-Arnold to return to Liverpool, echoing Jamie Carragher's earlier support for a move back to Anfield. The 28-year-old right-back has struggled at Real Madrid since joining on a free transfer, making the starting XI only four times this season with Denzel Dumfries preferred by manager Jose Mourinho.

Heskey believes Alexander-Arnold would be welcomed back "with open arms" by most Liverpool fans, though acknowledged some may hold a grudge over his departure. He urged supporters to move past how he left and focus on what he achieved on the pitch for the club.

Carragher previously made a similar case, noting that Alexander-Arnold is effectively third choice at Real Madrid and that Liverpool have missed his creative spark at right-back, despite Ronald Araujo's strong performances.
