'We are not in Disneyland': Arteta warns Dowman of Arsenal's demands

Arteta warned Dowman after the FA rejected Arsenal's appeal against his three-match suspension for the red card at Fleetwood, telling the 16-year-old he must learn from the mistake.

Max Dowman will miss three matches after the FA rejected Arsenal's appeal against his red card in Tuesday's League Cup loss to Fleetwood. The 16-year-old became the youngest player ever sent off in League Cup history.

Mikel Arteta said he was "very disappointed" with the decision and felt Dowman was fortunate not to suffer a broken foot from the "reckless tackles" he received. The manager warned Dowman that he "is not in Disneyland" and must learn from the incident, which came after the player was also sent off for England's Under 19s last month.

Dowman will miss Sunday's trip to Liverpool and matches against Hull and Newcastle. Arteta also confirmed Bukayo Saka is not expected back until after the international break due to a thigh injury.
