RKC manager Duits frustrated with 'stupid rules': 'What are you supposed to do?'

RKC lost 1-2 to Almere City, extending their winless run to six matches; manager Duits criticized a penalty decision and his team's poor performance.

RKC suffered a frustrating 1-2 defeat to Almere City on Friday, extending their run without a win to six consecutive league matches. Almere City took the lead in the 25th minute through Hamza el Dahri's penalty conversion, awarded after Liam van Gelderen was penalized for handball from close range.

Manager Sander Duits expressed his frustration after the match, questioning the penalty decision. "From two meters away, what is he supposed to do with his hands? He has no time to pull his hand back," Duits said. He acknowledged the referee was following the rules but criticized what he called "stupid regulations" that punish defenders in such situations. Duits also lamented his own team's performance, noting they played poorly in the first half and failed to create chances before the decisive penalty moment.
