Dominik Szoboszlai: Confirmed Liverpool news could upset Florian Wirtz

Szoboszlai could return for Liverpool's Arsenal clash on Sunday after a month out with injury, though the Reds have thrived in his absence.

Dominik Szoboszlai has a chance to return to Liverpool's squad for Sunday's visit of Arsenal to Anfield, manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed. The 26-year-old midfielder has been sidelined for the past month following an international injury, and a brief return against Brentford earlier this month ended prematurely when the same issue flared up.

Liverpool have won four of their last five games without Szoboszlai, including a penalty shootout victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. The emergence of Trey Nyoni in midfield and the improved partnership between Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch have seen the team play with greater fluidity in transition. Florian Wirtz has also flourished in the Hungarian's absence, scoring and assisting twice in improved performances.

While Szoboszlai may not be ready to start against Arsenal, his set-piece prowess—notably his free-kick ability that produced a stunning goal against the Gunners last season—could prove valuable as an impact substitute if the match remains close late on.
