Eder Sarabia's first message to Espanyol fans

New manager Eder Sarabia takes charge after Espanyol's impressive 1-0 win at Villarreal; he cannot manage from the bench until 20 November due to a suspension.

Espanyol appointed Eder Sarabia as head coach on a deal until 2028, following the sacking of Manolo González. The club had just secured a crucial 1-0 victory at Villarreal on Friday, with a goal from Lele Cabrera lifting them out of the relegation zone and ending a six-game winless run.

Sarabia, who arrives from Elche, will take his first training session on Sunday but cannot manage from the touchline until 20 November when Espanyol visit San Mamés. He must complete two remaining games of a suspension carried over from last season and will miss Saturday's home match against Deportivo.

The new manager was present at La Cerámica on Friday to watch the Villarreal win and has already sent a message to supporters via social media, praising García's interim work and the team's performance. Sarabia will be officially presented on Tuesday.
