Tolu on Míchel criticism: 'You'll never understand our bond'

Arokodare defended his relationship with manager Míchel after the Spaniard's recent criticism, saying their bond is dynamic and built on passion.

Tolu Arokodare responded to criticism from manager Míchel Sánchez after scoring again in Amsterdam's match against AZ. Míchel had previously said the striker could work harder in pressing, but Arokodare dismissed any negativity between them.

"You will never understand the relationship I have with the coach," Arokodare told ESPN after the game. "Not just me, but almost every player. The bond is very dynamic, not in a negative way." He praised Míchel as a passionate and emotional man who hates losing, even in training drills, but emphasized the criticism comes from a place of care.

Arokodare also revealed a lighter side to his manager. "He can be very funny during meetings, everyone laughs," he said. "You only see the serious Míchel, but he's really funny. He's serious and passionate, but can suddenly become very relaxed. He brings joy to this group, which is very important."
