Milan-Inter, Amorim: "Scudetto soon? I don't know, we must be honest with the fans"

Amorim praised his side's performance in the derby win but cautioned that Scudetto success requires time and consistency, not just one magical night.

Ruben Amorim was delighted with Milan's derby victory over Inter, his first win in the fixture and the club's fourth consecutive win. Speaking after the match, the manager highlighted the team's concentration and tactical discipline from the opening minutes, particularly praising the aggressive approach on the flanks against Inter's attacking threat.

Amorim defended his tactical choices, including deploying De Winter as a central defender alongside Pavlovic and positioning Gila on the right, explaining he aims to place players in positions that suit their strengths. He also credited the entire squad's effort rather than singling out individuals, though he acknowledged the impact of Pulisic, Modric and Rabiot.

On the Scudetto prospects, Amorim was measured. While owner Cardinale has set that as an objective, the manager stressed that one victory does not change the situation and that meaningful progress requires sustained effort over time. "The Scudetto is possible but I don't know when," he said. "You have to be honest — people aren't stupid, they see this squad is growing." He emphasised his commitment to the players, saying he will always back them as long as they continue giving their all.
