Cordero Vega's refereeing praised

Referee Adrián Cordero Vega delivered a composed performance in Barcelona's win over Alavés, making sound decisions on fouls and correctly rejecting a penalty claim.

Adrián Cordero Vega refereed Barcelona's match against Alavés with good positioning and clear judgment. He managed the game well to maintain flow, correctly declining to award a penalty when Lamine Yamal fell in the area after contact with Koski, determining the challenge was insufficient. He issued yellow cards to Protesoni for a kick on Pedri, Pedri for holding Denis Suárez, Ángel Pérez for grabbing Adeyemi, Cancelo for bringing down Ángel Pérez, and Pablo Ibáñez for moving the ball. He showed restraint by not booking Fermín for stepping on Youssef. VAR official Pizarro Gómez had little to do.
