Mourinho: "The team is growing"

Mourinho praised Real Madrid's 3-0 win at Racing Santander, saying the team is growing but should have scored more from their chances.

José Mourinho expressed satisfaction after Real Madrid's 3-0 victory at Racing Santander in El Sardinero. The Portuguese manager highlighted the team's progression over his four months in charge, noting improved defensive compactness and commitment from attacking players in defensive work.

Mourinho acknowledged Real Madrid should have converted more chances in the second half, where the team dominated. He defended his side against controversy surrounding two refereeing decisions, explaining that many people don't understand the rules, particularly regarding Tchouaméni's challenge. He praised Racing's passionate home support and combative style, warning that despite the 3-0 scoreline, the hosts remained dangerous throughout.

Looking ahead, Mourinho said the team faces two important and complicated matches coming up. He emphasized the growing understanding between himself and his players, noting they now comprehend his non-negotiable principles as a coach.
