Mbappé's other Ballon d'Or

Mbappé chases major trophies with Real Madrid after narrowly missing the Ballon d'Or; he faces Racing Santander seeking to extend his scoring streak to 24 consecutive opponents.

Mbappé arrives at Santander with the fresh sting of losing the Ballon d'Or to Kane, but the French forward's true obsession lies elsewhere: winning major trophies with Real Madrid—a European Super Cup and an Intercontinental Cup. At the Bernabéu, individual accolades matter less than silverware.

He has scored in every La Liga match this season, netting 11 goals in 13 games across all competitions. His current streak spans 23 consecutive league opponents, and Racing Santander will be his 24th test. The hosts sit fifth in home form with three wins and two draws at El Sardinero, but Mbappé's form is formidable: he scored twice at Camp Nou last time out and has now reached 100 goals in 116 Madrid appearances.

A victory would keep Madrid within three points of Barcelona and one of Atlético Madrid, with a direct clash between those two sides to follow. Mbappé's pursuit of trophies—the 'other' Ballon d'Or—begins in earnest.
