Hidalgo: "It's been a huge lift"

Deportivo ended a six-game winless run with victory over Osasuna at home, with manager Hidalgo praising his side's resilience and character.

Deportivo manager Antonio Hidalgo expressed his delight after his team's victory over Osasuna at Riazor, breaking a six-match winless streak. Hidalgo highlighted the emotional lift of the result and credited his players' belief and composure, particularly after conceding first through Budimir's first-half goal. "It was a huge boost, more than deserved by what we saw from the first minute," Hidalgo said. "We were able to turn around a situation that could have become recurring. We had the calm not to panic because it could have led to conceding a second goal."

The manager praised his squad's second-half performance and their ability to stay engaged throughout the match. He also commended striker Aubameyang for his professionalism in accelerating his recovery, and revealed that midfielder Yeremay had suggested Uruguayan defender Josema Giménez wear the captain's armband, reflecting the player's understanding of leadership responsibilities.
