Seedorf tells Brazilian reporters: 'You are guests here'

Seedorf shut down questions about Corinthians' off-field problems ahead of Thursday's match against São Paulo, telling Brazilian journalists they are guests and must respect the team's focus.

former Corinthians manager Clarence Seedorf intervened during a press conference on Tuesday when a journalist asked Memphis Depay about teammate Gabriel Paulista's comments regarding people wanting to harm the struggling club, including references to unpaid salaries.

Seedorf stopped the question, saying he had already addressed such topics the previous week and wanted the focus on Thursday's match against São Paulo. He suggested journalists save such questions for individual player interviews after the season ends. When another reporter asserted journalists have the freedom to ask relevant questions regardless of the manager's preference, Seedorf responded firmly: "We are not obliged to answer every question you ask. We have invited you, you are guests here. We want a nice, positive time with you. If you plan to keep talking about the past, we don't want that."

Corinthians sit 17th in Brazil's Série A and are fighting to avoid relegation. Seedorf won his first match in charge last Friday, beating Mirassol 2-0.
