Herrera: "Our good form and confidence in ourselves remains intact"

Herrera says Real Sociedad's confidence remains intact despite their recent defeat, ahead of Thursday's Europa League match against Lyon.

Yangel Herrera addressed the media on Wednesday ahead of Real Sociedad's Europa League fixture against Olympique Lyon at 18:45. The Venezuelan midfielder dismissed suggestions that the team's recent loss at San Mamés had dented their confidence, insisting the squad performed well in that match and their winning momentum remains intact.

Herrera described the Lyon encounter as a high-level contest between two quality teams, expressing hope that Real Sociedad can deliver an impressive performance at home and secure victory. He noted that the upcoming home matches will be crucial in determining their path through the Europa League.

On Lyon's managerial change, confirmed Wednesday morning, Herrera said it makes no difference to their preparation, as the focus must remain on Real Sociedad's own performance. He also touched on the controversial penalty decision from San Mamés, suggesting the incident could serve as a learning point for improving the system in future.
