Ajax miss Brandt and Amrabat in Conference League clash with Midtjylland

Brandt and Amrabat ruled out through injury; Blind and Berghuis available after recent fitness issues.

Ajax will be without midfielders Julian Brandt and Sofyan Amrabat for Thursday's Conference League visit to Midtjylland, both sidelined by injury. Brandt left the field during the first half of last weekend's match against AZ, while Amrabat completed that game but is not fit enough to travel to Denmark. Also unavailable are Viktor Tsyhankov, Kasper Dolberg and Caio Henrique.

Manager Míchel Sánchez has been able to recall Daley Blind and Steven Berghuis, who featured for 15 minutes in the AZ match after recent injuries. The absences of Brandt and Amrabat present a significant midfield puzzle, particularly as September signing Yves Bissouma is not yet eligible for European competition. Sánchez had settled on Mokio, Amrabat and Brandt as his regular midfield three over the previous four matches.

Ajax sit on three points from two Conference League games after losing to Hadjuk Split and beating Atalanta. Midtjylland have managed just one point from their opening fixtures.
