Dest and Mauro Júnior expose PSV's defensive weakness: 'Not well organised'

PSV lost 2-1 at home to Club Brugge in Champions League; Dest and captain Mauro Júnior blamed poor defensive organisation and missed chances.

PSV suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League after Kodai Sano equalised and Carlos Forbs scored the winner. Sergiño Dest and captain Mauro Júnior identified defensive lapses as the key problem. Dest, who had a clear chance early on but shot wide against Yann Sommer, said PSV created plenty of opportunities but failed to convert them. "We missed too many chances," Dest told Ziggo Sport. "I come into these situations often and should be more important for the team." He also criticised the team's shape in defence: "The rest defence wasn't good. We're a very attacking team and want to score, but we weren't well organised at the back." Mauro echoed the sentiment, acknowledging that while they anticipated Forbs' pace, "we weren't well organised in the rest defence." PSV face Real Madrid away and then Atlético Madrid at home in their remaining two Champions League group games this year. "We must keep our heads up and believe we can qualify," Mauro said.
