Ballon d'Or winner Kane extends at Bayern, 'becomes best-paid player in Europe'

Kane extends at Bayern until 2029, becoming Europe's highest-paid player at €25m gross annually plus bonuses.

Harry Kane has signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich, committing to the club until summer 2029. The 33-year-old England striker, who won the Ballon d'Or last month, will become Europe's highest-paid footballer under the new deal. According to German Sky, Kane will earn €25 million gross per year, excluding bonuses, making him the best-compensated player on the continent.

Kane's extension comes after a remarkable spell at Bayern since joining in summer 2023. In 161 appearances, he has scored 156 goals and provided 41 assists, averaging nearly one goal per game. He holds the record for the fastest player to reach 100 Bundesliga goals, achieving the milestone in just 98 matches. His Ballon d'Or win made him the first Bayern player to claim the award since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981.
