Barcelona scores early, Madrid at the end

Barcelona scores early to control matches; Real Madrid relies on late goals, winning five of nine games decided after the 85th minute.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have played their first 15 league matches of the season, revealing starkly different patterns in when they score. Barcelona, under Hansi Flick, has scored in the opening ten minutes in eight matches and won all of them. Three goals came before the fifth minute (against Getafe, Feyenoord, and Levante), with five more between the sixth and tenth minutes, and one more by the 15th.

Real Madrid, managed by José Mourinho, has taken the opposite approach. The club has scored in nine of 15 matches after the 85th minute, with five of those goals proving decisive for victory. Six goals have come in added time, four of which secured wins. These late strikes have earned Madrid crucial points in La Liga and the Champions League, including goals from Rüdiger (91' vs Espanyol, 90+1' in Rome), Espí (91' twice), Mbappé (91' vs Rayo), and Valverde (92' in Athens).

In the recent Clásico at Camp Nou, Barcelona departed from its early-scoring pattern and lost 1–2, with Mbappé's 87th-minute goal proving decisive for Madrid.
