Ruben Neves sends message to Newcastle starlet Sean Neave after Wolves heroics

Neves posted a nostalgic message after Neave's late brace secured Wolves' 2-1 win at Bristol City, echoing a similar comeback from their 2017-18 promotion season.

Wolves moved to second in the Championship after a 2-1 comeback win at Bristol City on Wednesday. Newcastle loanee Sean Neave, 19, scored twice in the final minutes to overturn Scott Twine's free-kick opener. He tapped in from close range in the 82nd minute before heading home the winner at the back post in the 89th.

Neave's late header drew comparisons to Ryan Bennett's similar goal at the same ground during Wolves' 2017-18 promotion season, when they won the Championship with 99 points. Ruben Neves, who played in that title-winning campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo, responded to Wolves' Instagram post highlighting the parallel by commenting "Good memories" with a heart-eyes emoji.

Wolves have now won three consecutive games and are unbeaten in their last five. They sit second after 14 matches in a tight promotion race, though Opta's supercomputer predicts they will finish third, with Middlesbrough favoured at 33.32 per cent to win the league.
