"An indelible stain for the club": Lens supporters promise strong action after 9-1 Champions League defeat

Lens supporters vow strong action after the club's record 9-1 Champions League defeat to Como, calling it an indelible stain on the club's history.

RC Lens suffered a historic 9-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday, a result that has sparked fury among the club's supporter groups. Multiple fan associations released a joint statement on Friday expressing their shame and describing the loss as an indelible mark on the club that will define Lens in European football history for decades to come.

The supporters' groups — including the Red Tigers, Kop Sang et Or, North Devils, Lens 1906, and Artois Lens Boys — declared that "a red line has been crossed" and warned of strong action to follow. They stated their response aims both to "punish and prevent," criticizing the players' attitude during the match and certain club officials' recent conduct for damaging Lens's image in Europe's most prestigious competition.

Lens face Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday (20:45), a match the supporters see as crucial. The groups indicated they will coordinate actions from Saturday through Sunday, with the threat of further consequences if similar performances occur against Marseille.
