Tolu on close bond with manager Míchel: 'I will be his death'

Ajax striker Tolu Arokodare praised his close relationship with manager Míchel Sánchez, saying disagreements on the pitch strengthen rather than damage their bond of mutual respect and love.

Ajax's on-loan striker Tolu Arokodare has spoken warmly about his relationship with manager Míchel Sánchez, describing it as built on "love and respect" despite occasional tactical disagreements. In an interview with ESPN, Arokodare explained that clashes with the coach actually bring out the best in him, whether he follows Sánchez's instructions or plays his own way.

Arokodare, who has scored 12 goals in 16 appearances this season after joining on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, joked that he will eventually "be Míchel's death" by giving him stress, clarifying he meant this playfully rather than literally. He acknowledged the difficulty of being a coach, noting that while outside voices sometimes offer valid perspective, he trusts Sánchez's expertise and tries his best to listen to him.
