Tribute to two Athletic Bilbao legends at Lezama

Athletic Bilbao legends Andoni Goikoetxea and Manolo Delgado honoured by a football badge collectors' association at a ceremony in Lezama.

Andoni Goikoetxea and Manolo Delgado were honoured yesterday by the Euskadi Football Badge Collectors' Association at the Sidrería Lezama. The international centre-back and veteran fitness coach, who worked with Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team among others, currently serve as ambassadors for the Basque club.

Both received a sculpture designed and created by Carlos Purroy, a sculptor and former player for Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna. The ceremony was attended by several other notable figures including Ondarru, Elgezabal, Otaolea, Miguel Gutiérrez, De Andrés and ACIFE president Fernando Fresno.

The association previously honoured Ernesto Valverde and Jon Aspiazu in recent months, both of whom remain part of Athletic Bilbao's first-team coaching staff.
