Tenerife pledges long-term financial support to daughter of deceased De Miguel

Tenerife pledged long-term financial support for the one-year-old daughter of Jesús de Miguel, who died Monday after a collision during a match against Andorra FC.

Jesús de Miguel, a Tenerife forward, suffered a fatal collision during Monday's match against Andorra FC. The goalkeeper's challenge left De Miguel unconscious; he was rushed to hospital and required resuscitation after his heart stopped. He died Tuesday morning.

De Miguel's wife and 16-month-old daughter were in the stadium when the incident occurred. Tenerife director Antonio Manuel Porro Granados confirmed the club will provide financial support to the family. "Our plan is to support the girl. We want to be there for her, at least until she becomes an adult," Granados told The Athletic. The club said it will go beyond legal obligations and explore additional ways to ease the family's financial burden, though acknowledging that material support cannot replace the loss.
