Roma-Sassuolo, Aquilani: "I'm responsible, but many things must change"

Sassuolo manager Aquilani takes responsibility after a fifth consecutive defeat to Roma, acknowledging lack of courage and personality in his team's display.

Sassuolo manager Alberto Aquilani addressed the media after his side's 3-0 defeat to Roma at the Olimpico, extending their run to five consecutive losses. Aquilani acknowledged Roma's superiority but expressed disappointment at his team's performance, saying "the light went out" and criticizing the lack of personality and courage shown in such a stadium.

Taking responsibility for the result, Aquilani stated he is judged by outcomes and accepts that today's performance did not help his case. He emphasized the need to work on the team's mental fragility, describing it as an evident deficit. While he said he continues to feel the club's support, Aquilani made clear that significant changes are needed both tactically and in terms of the squad's mentality to salvage Sassuolo's season.
