The comfort zone

Roma remain unbeaten in Serie A with 18 consecutive league matches without defeat, showing consistency that could challenge for the title.

Roma have found their rhythm in Serie A after recovering from their Old Trafford defeat, dismantling Sassuolo with their characteristic aggression and control. Manager Gasperini's side dominated from the start despite Sassuolo manager Aquilani's tactical adjustments to contain the league's best attack.

The contrast is stark: in European competition Roma have conceded three times in four matches when pressed, but in Serie A they operate in their comfort zone, never faltering. They boast the division's best attack, one of its strongest defences, and emerging talents like Soulè and Mora providing unpredictability. The return of Konè adds midfield solidity ahead of Paulo Dybala's eventual comeback.

Roma's 18-game unbeaten run in the league—with only three draws against Inter, Como and Napoli—leaves them as one of just two sides still without a league defeat alongside Lazio. With Inter's recent dip, Gasperini's side can genuinely challenge for the Scudetto if he prioritises the league over European commitments. The international break will allow recovery of injured players, with only Pellegrini unavailable for the resumption against Parma.
