The Captain

Barcelona captain Raphinha has signed a contract extension through 2030 after an impressive progression since joining the club.

Barcelona have renewed Raphinha's contract, extending his deal through 2030. The Brazilian winger, now the club's captain, has enjoyed a spectacular rise since arriving at Camp Nou, transforming into the centre-forward the club needed despite a difficult start marked by doubts and uncertainty.

Raphinha's journey at Barcelona contrasts sharply with his early struggles, when the club was linked with moves for players like Nico Williams. He has since established himself as an intense, committed captain and prolific goalscorer—a different breed from Barcelona's previous Brazilian superstars including Ronaldinho, Romario, Ronaldo and Rivaldo.
