Barcelona's possible XI against Atlético at the Metropolitano

Rodri ruled out with a right hamstring injury; Flick undecided between Frenkie de Jong and Marc Bernal to replace him in midfield.

Barcelona will be without Rodri for tonight's visit to Atlético Madrid after the midfielder suffered a right biceps femoris injury against Aston Villa. Manager Hansi Flick must find a replacement for the crucial midfield role, with Frenkie de Jong and Marc Bernal the leading candidates. Flick declined to confirm his choice before the match, saying: "I haven't decided yet if De Jong will start. It's good to think about it overnight. We know his quality, but also Bernal's. He did very well in the last game and I'm really liking what I see." Gavi was not mentioned as an alternative for the double pivot.

On a positive note, Flick confirmed that defenders Eric García and Christensen are back in the squad, with García in contention to start. The expected lineup suggests Barcelona will field their full-strength defence with Eric García on the right, Cubarsí and Gerard Martín in the centre, and Cancelo on the left, with either Bernal or De Jong partnering Pedri in midfield. The attack remains unchanged with Lamine, Fermín and Gordon, with Raphinha leading the line.
