former Carlisle boss Elliot proud of squad after hard week

Elliot praised his squad's response after consecutive away wins ended a five-game winless run and eased pressure on the Carlisle boss.

former Carlisle United head coach Rob Elliot expressed pride in his players' response following back-to-back away victories—a 2-0 win at Fylde and a 3-1 success at Aldershot Town—that ended a five-game winless streak and lifted the club back into mid-table in the National League. The wins came after a 5-2 home defeat to Woking on 26 September had prompted calls for Elliot's departure from sections of the crowd. Elliot told BBC Radio Cumbria the performances represented the proudest he had been of the squad since his arrival, crediting the players' mentality and willingness to work. Carlisle face Kidderminster Harriers at home on Saturday.
