New CEO says results must improve for Carlisle

New CEO Tom Lawrence says Carlisle must improve results after a disappointing start; the club sits 14th in the National League with just four wins from 13 games.

Carlisle United's new chief executive Tom Lawrence has called for a significant upturn in results following a disappointing start to the season. The club currently sits 14th in the National League with only four wins from 13 games under head coach Rob Elliot, leaving them 18 points behind leaders Boreham Wood. Lawrence, who took the role this summer from Southend United, reiterated the backing of American owners the Piatak family and indicated the club's focus has shifted from winning the division to securing a top-seven finish.
