Summarised by MatchPal
Chelsea made late-window contact over Koné but Roma rejected any approach; Gasperini says the midfielder is irreplaceable.
Chelsea made informal contact with AS Roma on deadline day about signing midfielder Manu Koné, but no official offer was submitted. Roma sporting director Tony D'Amico confirmed the Blues' interest but denied reports that manager Gian Piero Gasperini had threatened to resign if the club sold the 25-year-old.
