Aston Villa approach as 'complete' player impresses Emery – €30m+ to start negotiations

Aston Villa director contacted Sevilla to discuss signing midfielder Lucien Agoumé after Unai Emery watched him impress in a friendly; €30m+ needed to start negotiations.

Aston Villa have initiated contact with Sevilla over signing defensive midfielder Lucien Agoumé after he impressed Unai Emery during a friendly match at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Friday. An Aston Villa director contacted Sevilla to enquire about the 24-year-old Frenchman, who played 45 minutes in the game. Sevilla are expected to demand €30m or more to begin negotiations. Agoumé, who joined Sevilla on loan from Inter Milan in January 2024 and made the move permanent later that year, has made 93 appearances for the Spanish club. Arsenal and Manchester United are also reported to be monitoring the player.
