Alex Padilla makes Mexico debut in friendly against Chile

Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Padilla made his Mexico debut in a 0-2 friendly loss to Chile, playing the full match under new manager Rafa Márquez.

Alex Padilla earned his first cap for Mexico's senior team in a friendly against Chile that closed out the squad's US tour. The Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, who was included in Rafa Márquez's initial squad but unused in three earlier matches against Colombia, Peru and the United States, started and played the full 90 minutes as Mexico lost 2-0. Chile scored in the 52nd minute through Maximiliano Gutiérrez and added a second in the 65th when Vicente Pizarro capitalized on a defensive error.
