Toone comes into England squad as Bronze withdraws
Summarised by MatchPal
Toone recalled to England squad for Greece World Cup play-off after initial omission; Bronze withdraws with minor injury.
Ella Toone has been recalled to the England Women squad for this month's World Cup play-off ties against Greece after being left out of the initial selection. Manchester United midfielder Toone and Arsenal winger Chloe Kelly were originally omitted by manager Sarina Wiegman, who felt they had not performed to their potential recently. Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Lucy Bronze has withdrawn from the squad to manage a minor injury sustained in league action. England face Greece in a two-legged play-off, with the first leg on Friday in Crete and the second at Leicester City on 13 October.
