Ella Toone handed late England call-up for World Cup play-off after Sarina Wiegman snub
Summarised by MatchPal
Toone recalled to England squad for World Cup play-offs after Lucy Bronze's minor injury, reversing Wiegman's initial omission.
Manchester United midfielder Ella Toone has been called up to England's squad for their World Cup play-off matches against Greece, replacing Chelsea defender Lucy Bronze who sustained a minor injury. Toone was originally left out of Sarina Wiegman's 23-player squad announced last week, alongside fellow regular Chloe Kelly, with Wiegman stating she "expected more" from both players. Toone's recall comes after Bronze's injury during Chelsea's 3-0 win over West Ham.
