Sources: Celtic set sights on defender signing after Chelsea agreement

Celtic are scouting left-back alternatives for next summer despite loaning Shim Mheuka from Chelsea this season.

Celtic have agreed a season-long loan for 18-year-old left-back Shim Mheuka from Chelsea to provide cover, but the club is already identifying long-term alternatives ahead of next summer's transfer window. Manager Martin O'Neill is pushing the club to find a permanent back-up option to Kieran Tierney, with recruitment work ongoing behind the scenes. While Mheuka's arrival addresses the immediate need, doubts remain about a potential permanent deal.
