McNally looked really composed, says Skubala

McNally completed 90 minutes in his first competitive appearance since February 2025, impressing manager Skubala after overcoming a serious knee injury.

Bristol City centre-back Luke McNally returned to competitive action on Saturday, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 Championship draw against Charlton Athletic. The 27-year-old had been sidelined for 20 months following an ACL injury sustained in February 2025, with his recovery complicated by repeated setbacks. Manager Michael Skubala praised McNally's composure and defensive quality, crediting the player's hard work in rehabilitation and the medical team's support. McNally had featured in a pre-season friendly at Crystal Palace before his league return.
